Date Night pg 1 - color by Kijara1 Date Night pg 1 - color by Kijara1
Page 1 of my 5-page Kijara story Date Night. The story has been published in print in the 65-page comic anthology Fantasmagori 3 which can be bought (in Danish only) for 30 DKKR (about 5,50 USD) through the publishers website: [link]

This is a color version of the first page - the 48-page Kijara comic album I'm working on is gonna be in full color, so I'm, practising my coloring skills even though this comic is only gonna be printed in black/white.

pg 1 pg 2 pg 3 pg 4 pg 5

Yeah, I know - I'm doing a 48-page European-size album series with my characters - I'm only half way through the pencils, and I've been working on it for two years :work:

Oh wow that's a lot of work to do, I haven't even done the penciling for my comic yet and i've been working on it for a few years >< Gah!

Well, I have to go back and change a lot of stuff on the first pencils - maybe redraw entire pages. I kinda knew that when I started out, it's because I've gotten way better at drawing since I started the project - some of the first pencils really suck :noes:
I worked on the characters a long time before i made the storyboard and started drawing - so in reality I've been working on this thing for years and years :work:
I can see you're doing a lot of work on your characters as well - that's a great idea, it really helps the story get along and ensures consistency in the characters :-)

That's a pretty smart Idea i think! cos yeah we do improve over time, do you have any of the penciling up here? haha
hence another reason why I'm so reluctant to start drawing my comics cos i keep changing scenarios and i know ill look back at my drawings months later and not be happy cos ive improved gahhh
yeah same ive had my characters for 5+ years haha
How long have you had your characters?
Yeah Ive got my characters all mapped out now, It's just the story that needs more work, Thankyou :)

I have some pages in my gallery, but there's so much other stuff in there, so I made a dA group for the comic, because that makes it so much easier to organize all the stuff from the comic. Pencils are in this folder: [link]
As you can see, only a few pages are in there - those are the best ones, there are a lot of anatomy mistakes and stuff like that on most of the other pages, so I have to redraw them :faint:
I think I've had my characters as they are now for about 4 years, but Kijara started out like 10 years ago, only she was so different back then, that I don't think it really qualifies as the same character :hmm:
I think there's no other way than to just start drawing, and then go back and fix stuff you're unhappy with later, 'cause you'll keep improving as an artist, so otherwise you're gonna be sitting around forever waiting to be "good enough" to start drawing... ;-)
